Data Engineer

About the role

Atlassian is looking for a Data Engineer to join its Data Engineering team and build data solutions and applications that power decisions across the organization. The team manages several data models and pipelines covering finance, growth, product analysis, customer support, sales and marketing. The role suits someone who enjoys building systems at scale and working with extended teams to evolve solutions as business needs change.

Key responsibilities

• Build analytical data models that support a broad range of analytical requirements across the company
• Work with extended teams to evolve solutions as business processes and requirements change
• Own problems end-to-end, improving data by adding new sources, coding business rules and producing new metrics
• Partner with Product, Analytics, Finance and Operations to turn complex business questions into data-driven insights

Required profile

• BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management or another technical field, with 4+ years of data engineering experience
• Strong programming skills in Python or Java
• Experience designing data models for optimal storage and retrieval, and building scalable data pipelines with Spark (SparkSQL) and Airflow or similar schedulers
• Experience with reporting tools such as Databricks and Tableau
