Data Engineer II – AI & Analytics

About the role

The Human Capital practice at Deloitte is seeking a hands‑on Data Engineer II to design, build, and implement reusable analytics products that support AI, ML, and generative AI solutions for workforce and human capital analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Design and operationalize modern data foundations for large language model‑powered applications, including retrieval‑augmented generation, embeddings, and vector search.
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines, dashboards, and reporting frameworks using SQL and Tableau (or equivalent).
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and offshore teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions with strong governance, lineage, and quality controls.
• Support business development activities such as proposals, client presentations, and thought‑leadership content.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
• 2+ years of experience in data engineering, modern AI/ML pipelines, and statistical modeling.
• Ability to travel up to 25% and legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Required skills

• Python or R for data wrangling and modeling.
• SQL and Tableau (or equivalent visualization tools).
• Experience with Databricks or Snowflake.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and managed data services.
• Familiarity with large language model concepts, LLMOps, and MLOps.
