Data Engineer – AI‑enabled Data Pipelines

About the role

Amazon Fuse is looking for a Data Engineer to help shape the data strategy for its subscription‑based services. You will work closely with product, engineering, finance and marketing teams to build and maintain data pipelines that power AI‑driven products.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, develop and maintain scalable data infrastructure and pipelines, leveraging AI tools to accelerate development and improve code quality.
• Extract, transform and load data from diverse sources using SQL, scripting languages and AWS big‑data services.
• Design and implement ETL pipelines and BI solutions, embedding AI for data validation and transformation logic.
• Collaborate with product managers, software engineers and BI engineers to explore new data sources and deliver actionable insights.
• Stay current with advances in big data and AI technologies and contribute to pilot projects.
• Proactively identify and resolve data‑related issues, using AI‑assisted automation to reduce operational load.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of data engineering experience.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn ambiguous problems into concrete recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills for working with cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Comfortable in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment and demonstrates an ownership mentality.

Required skills

• Data modeling, data warehousing and ETL pipeline development.
• Proficiency with SQL and at least one query language (e.g., PL/SQL, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala).
• Experience with a scripting language such as Python or KornShell.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS big‑data technologies.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants or generative AI tools for automating data‑engineering tasks.
