Data Engineer, 2027 Graduate

About the role

Atlassian is hiring a new graduate Data Engineer for its Data Engineering team in Seattle, Washington, as part of its Grad++ program, which combines hands-on technical training, professional growth, mentorship and social connections. The role is hybrid and requires being able to work out of Seattle; it is not eligible for F1 or J1 students and is not available for work sponsorship.

You will influence product teams, inform Data Science and Analytics Platform teams and partner with data consumers to ensure data assets are useful. You will help strategize measurement, collect data and generate insights, and report to a Data Engineering Manager while learning from a team mentor.

Key responsibilities

• Define metrics and instrument logging
• Acquire and ingest data, and architect and model data
• Transform data and ensure data quality, governance and enablement
• Build alerting, visualization and reporting
• Develop at scale and improve efficiency

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or a related technical field, graduating by August 2027
• Demonstrated interest in Data Engineering through coursework, work or internship experience, or personal projects
• Experience programming with Python or other object-oriented languages
• Knowledge of data structures and how to apply them
• Huge plus: understanding of the SaaS business model or enterprise software product development experience

What we offer

• Base pay for new hires depending on pay zone: Zone A $124,200-$162,150, Zone B $111,780-$145,935, Zone C $103,086-$134,585
