Data Analyst – Insurance Analytics

About the role

DataEconomy is seeking a Data Analyst to join its fast‑growing analytics team in Charlotte, NC. You will work within the insurance domain, turning business questions from underwriting, claims, actuarial, and finance teams into structured analyses and repeatable reports.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain dashboards and scorecards for KPIs such as loss ratio, combined ratio, premium growth, retention, and claims cycle time.
• Perform exploratory analysis to identify trends, anomalies, fraud indicators, and leakage opportunities.
• Document assumptions, definitions, and methodology for transparent and auditable results.
• Analyze policy, premium, claims, and billing data to support pricing, reserving, and portfolio management.
• Partner with actuarial and underwriting teams to validate data and interpret results.

Required profile

• 4–7+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or reporting.
• Strong SQL skills, including complex joins, window functions, and query tuning.
• Proven experience building dashboards in Power BI and/or Tableau.
• Solid understanding of dimensional data modeling (star schema).
• Excellent written and verbal communication with business stakeholders.
