Data Analyst III – Health Economics Research

About the role

The Data Analyst III will work with faculty in the Herbert Business School to conduct applied empirical research in health economics, health services research, and health policy. The position is quantitative‑focused, involving data cleaning, advanced statistical analysis, causal‑inference methods, and preparation of tables, figures, and manuscript sections for peer‑reviewed journals and conferences.

Key responsibilities

• Perform advanced data analysis, including cleaning, coding, documenting, and managing research datasets.
• Contribute to study design and protocol development, advising on causal identification strategies and data requirements.
• Serve as Project Coordinator for data contracts with public and private organizations.
• Conduct literature reviews to inform study framing and methodology.
• Summarize data and preliminary findings for faculty and research teams.
• Maintain reproducible, well‑organized code and analytical pipelines.
• Draft tables, figures, methods sections, and other manuscript components.
• Communicate proactively with team members and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong quantitative training with a genuine interest in academic research.
• Professional maturity, initiative, and ability to exercise sound judgment with limited oversight.
• Capacity to contribute intellectually to research direction and interpretation of results.
• Flexibility to work at different career stages, from pre‑doctoral to post‑doctoral levels.
