Cybersecurity Analyst – Security & AI Governance

About the role
The Cybersecurity Analyst (Security & AI Governance) will protect Cogent’s information assets, technology infrastructure, applications, cloud environments, data, and AI initiatives from cyber threats and misuse. The role bridges traditional cybersecurity operations with emerging AI governance, ensuring that both security policies and AI frameworks are consistently applied.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor security systems, networks, applications, cloud platforms, and AI‑enabled services for suspicious activity.
- Analyze security alerts, investigate incidents, determine root causes, and coordinate remediation.
- Support incident‑response processes, including containment, eradication, recovery, and post‑incident analysis.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and work with technical and business stakeholders to remediate findings.
- Review and analyze security logs from firewalls, IDS/IPS, cloud services, and AI platforms.
- Collaborate with IT, developers, and business units to align security and AI initiatives with policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist the CIO and CISO in developing cohesive plans for cybersecurity, AI governance, shadow‑AI oversight, and risk management.
Required profile
- Proven experience in cybersecurity operations and incident response.
- Knowledge of AI governance frameworks and the ability to assess AI‑related risks.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on threat detection and mitigation.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally with IT, development, and business teams.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) and/or a degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field are preferred.
