Cyber Threat & Response Engineer – Level 3

About the role

Join a global leader in innovation as a Cyber Threat & Response Engineer (Level 3) and become the frontline defender of 3M’s enterprise and industrial environments. You will hunt, analyze, and neutralize sophisticated attacks, turning complex threat data into decisive action.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and triage security alerts from managed service providers, SIEM, EDR, and advanced detection platforms.
• Conduct deep‑dive investigations, correlating data across multiple sources to determine scope, impact, and adversary intent.
• Lead containment, eradication, and recovery efforts for low‑ to moderate‑severity incidents.
• Develop and refine detection rules, playbooks, and response procedures to improve overall security posture.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and global 3Mers to share threat intelligence and best practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in cyber threat hunting, incident response, or related security operations.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to think like an attacker and anticipate tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
• Proven track record of managing incidents from detection through remediation in high‑stakes environments.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting technical findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., GCIH, GCIA, CISSP, CEH) are a plus.
