Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

The Cyber Security Engineer will protect the organization’s computer systems and networks from cyber threats. This full‑time, on‑site position involves monitoring, threat detection, incident response, and the implementation of protective measures. You will also lead security awareness training across the nonprofit.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor networks for breaches, intrusions, and suspicious activity.
• Implement security controls, protective measures, and system patching.
• Detect, remediate, and respond to security incidents.
• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability analyses, and risk evaluations.
• Develop and maintain security policies and ensure compliance with standards.
• Review vendor security reports (SOC2) and assess associated risks.
• Deliver security awareness training and communicate risks to staff.
• Troubleshoot and resolve security‑related technical issues.

Required profile

• College degree in a computer‑related discipline.
• CISM certification is mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years of cyber security management experience.
• Experience working in the nonprofit sector is desirable.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
• Understanding of network protocols and firewalls.
• Experience with system patching and security updates.
• Security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response.
• Vulnerability analysis and security assessments.
• Security policy development and compliance management.
• Security awareness training and user education.

• Annual salary of $108,000.
