About the role
The Cyber Security Analyst will protect the organization’s computer systems and networks from cyber threats. You will monitor for security breaches, implement protective measures, and respond to incidents to limit damage. The role also includes delivering educational programs to raise IT security awareness across the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor networks and systems for security incidents and breaches.
- Implement and maintain protective controls, firewalls, and system patching.
- Respond to security incidents, investigate root causes, and remediate risks.
- Develop and deliver security awareness training for staff.
- Review vendor security reports (e.g., SOC 2) during the contract process.
Required profile
- College degree in a computer‑related discipline; security certification preferred.
- Minimum five years of experience in cyber security management.
- Strong analytical abilities and understanding of policy and regulatory environments, especially in not‑for‑profit settings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with management, IT peers, and end‑users.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Knowledge of network protocols and firewall technologies.
- Experience with system patching and vulnerability remediation.
- Ability to assess and interpret SOC 2 vendor security reports.
