Customer Support Technician II – Field Service

About the role

As a Field Service Technician, you’ll serve as Applied Materials’ direct liaison with our Field Service Engineers to maintain customer equipment through preventive maintenance activities. By collaborating closely with customers and engineers, you’ll help ensure peak performance and deliver exceptional service while becoming an integral part of a diverse field team.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Field Service Engineers to maintain customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics to understand maintenance activities and improve performance.
• Apply basic diagnostic techniques to assess equipment and address technical issues under engineer guidance.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems (training provided).
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn electrical, mechanical, and vacuum systems.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport if travel is required.
• Ability to meet on‑site safety, environmental, and COVID‑19 protocols.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport if travel is required.
