Customer Site Service Manager – Automotive Coatings

About the role

The Customer Site Service Manager (CSSM) will be the on‑site technical expert for BASF’s automotive coating products at customer assembly plants in Louisville, KY. You will ensure product performance, support new applications, and act as the primary liaison between BASF and the customer.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily operation of BASF coating products in automotive assembly plants.
• Provide on‑site technical and application expertise, including colour management and defect identification.
• Enforce product quality and performance specifications and take corrective actions when needed.
• Assist in new product and application development projects.
• Collaborate with BASF sales and technical teams to deliver value‑added technical support.
• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or High School Diploma (or GED) with equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of experience in the automotive coatings industry (preferred).
• Proven background in paint applications and manufacturing environments.
• Strong communication abilities to interact with customers and internal teams.
