Customer Service Representative – Student Health Insurance

About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a Customer Service Representative to be the first point of contact for students, families, and university departments regarding the Student Health Insurance Plan. This role provides essential administrative support to the Senior Manager of Business Operations and liaises with insurance carriers and vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver customer service support to students, families, and internal departments.
• Answer and route incoming phone calls, manage voicemail greetings, and handle email triage.
• Update departmental forms, PowerPoint presentations, and website content.
• Process insurance enrollment, verification, claims, and payment issues.
• Coordinate with United Healthcare and other carriers for reconciliations, error files, and policy terminations.
• Maintain the student health insurance mailbox and ensure communications are linked to Salesforce records.
• Assist with manual waivers, reinstatements, and billing inquiries.

• Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Ability to manage multiple administrative tasks and prioritize issues.
• Detail‑oriented with accurate record‑keeping.

Required skills

• Experience with Salesforce for tracking communications.
