Customer Service Representative - Patient Registration (PRN)

About the role

R1 RCM Inc., a provider of technology-driven solutions for hospitals, health systems and medical groups, is hiring a Customer Service Representative for Patient Registration at Ascension Seton Bastrop. The role is part-time PRN (as needed), with a minimum of 48 hours a month and 24 hours on call. It is the first point of contact for patients, helping them get fast, accurate access to care.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients and families with the check-in process across multiple computer systems
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Navigate insurance plans and coverage, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and give cost estimates when applicable
• Minimize registration delays so patients can access care promptly
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and care teams to keep patient flow smooth

Required profile

• Exceptional customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong composure and professionalism in a fast-paced setting
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and shift priorities based on patient needs
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification or front desk is a plus but not required; training is provided
