Customer Service Representative - Patient Registration

About the role

R1 RCM Inc. is recruiting a Patient Registration Representative for St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. As the first point of contact for patients, you help them get fast, compassionate and accurate access to care. The schedule offers a variety of shifts, including overnight, daytime and part-time options. No healthcare background is needed, as training is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients and families with the check-in process using multiple computer systems to register patients efficiently
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Minimize registration delays and answer questions with confidence, clarity and compassion
• Navigate insurance plans and coverage details, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and give cost estimates when applicable
• Work with nurses, physicians and care teams to keep patient flow smooth

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification or front desk is a plus but not required

• Ability to multitask, prioritize quickly and pay close attention to detail

• Base pay of $16.61 - $22.95 per hour, depending on role, level, location, experience and education
