Customer Service Representative - Part Time Patient Registration

About the role

R1 is a revenue cycle technology company serving hospitals, health systems and medical groups, and is hiring a Customer Service Representative for patient registration at Intermountain Medical Center (IMED) in Murray. The role is part-time PRN (as needed), with a minimum of 48 hours a month and 24 hours on call. It is the first point of contact for patients, helping them get fast, compassionate and accurate access to care.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients and families with the check-in process, using multiple computer systems to register patients efficiently
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Minimize delays in registration so timely access to care is supported
• Navigate insurance plans and coverage, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and give cost estimates when applicable
• Work with nurses, physicians and care teams to keep patient flow smooth

Required profile

• Exceptional customer service, communication and interpersonal skills, with strong composure in a fast pace
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and shift priorities based on patient needs
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification or front desk is a plus but not required; training is provided
