Customer Service - Patient Registration (PRN)

About the role

R1 RCM is recruiting a Patient Access Representative for the LifePoint Haywood Regional Medical Center in Clyde. The role is PRN, with a minimum of 48 hours a month and 24 on-call hours, with additional shifts available. It is a frontline healthcare customer service position where you are the first point of contact for patients, helping them get fast, compassionate and accurate access to care.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients and families with the check-in process, using multiple computer systems to register patients efficiently
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Minimize delays in registration so timely access to care is supported
• Navigate insurance plans and coverage details, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and give cost estimates when applicable
• Work with nurses, physicians and care teams to keep patient flow smooth

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• No healthcare background is required; training is provided
• Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification or front desk is a plus
