Custodian 2 – Night Shift

About the role

The Custodian 2 – Night Shift provides essential cleaning and maintenance services for the University Recreation Complex during overnight hours. Working from 10:00 pm to 6:30 am, you will help ensure a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for students and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Clean restrooms, offices, classrooms, stairwells, elevators, hallways and other assigned areas (sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, polishing).
• Prepare and mix cleaning solutions according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Empty trash and recycling containers, transport waste to outdoor receptacles, and decontaminate containers.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as wet/dry vacuums, carpet extractors, bathroom cleaning machines, floor polishers and floor cleaners.
• Document fund expenditures, report safety concerns, and share information with teammates to support student success.
• Manage keys for assigned rooms, unlocking and locking areas as required.

Required skills

• Operation of wet/dry vacuums.

• Mixing and applying cleaning solutions safely.
