About the role
The Board of Education Department of Human Resources in Buffalo, NY is seeking qualified candidates for a temporary Career and Technical Education (CTE) teaching position. The role involves planning, delivering, and assessing instructional programs across a range of CTE disciplines such as culinary arts, cosmetology, horticulture, technology, and business.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans that promote active learning and meet curriculum standards.
- Prepare classroom environments and provide necessary materials and equipment for hands‑on instruction.
- Utilize a variety of instructional resources and technology to support diverse learner needs.
- Assess student performance, assign grades, and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and comply with district reporting requirements.
- Manage classroom behavior, enforce school policies, and foster a positive learning atmosphere.
- Participate in departmental, school, and district meetings, as well as professional development activities.
Required profile
- New York State or Buffalo certification in the specific CTE discipline being taught.
- Proof of certification must be attached to the application (PDF or screenshot).
- Preference given to candidates who are current residents of the City of Buffalo.
