Criminal Justice Adjunct Instructor

About the role

Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas is seeking an Adjunct Instructor to teach Criminal Justice courses on its Helena Campus. The position involves delivering both face‑to‑face and online instruction in areas such as law enforcement, criminology, corrections and contemporary issues.

Key responsibilities

• Teach a full complement of Criminal Justice courses as outlined in the ACTS and college catalog.
• Deliver instruction in classroom settings and through online platforms, including virtual labs.
• Assist with student recruitment, retention initiatives, and college‑wide activities.
• Participate in departmental committees and projects that support the college’s mission.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law, criminal justice or a closely related field (preferred).
• Three or more years of teaching experience, preferably in higher education.
• Experience delivering coursework online and integrating technology into instruction.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Blackboard learning management system.
• Familiarity with Workday for administrative tasks.
• Experience using Zoom or Microsoft Teams for virtual instruction.
