Credit Risk Analyst - Trade Credit Services

About the role

The Analyst, Trade Credit Services position at The Home Depot manages and services commercial credit customers in the Pro Trade Credit program. It covers setting up credit lines, receivables management, customer service and support of payments and dispute resolution. The role reports to the Area Supervisor Trade Credit Services, has no direct reports and typically involves less than 5% overnight travel.

Key responsibilities

• Collections and disputes: maintain accurate collection status records, recommend when accounts go to outside agencies or attorneys, resolve customer disputes and recommend plans of action for delinquent accounts.
• Customer service: communicate directly with customers and internal sales associates or leadership on credit and collection matters, verbally and in writing.
• Manage credit: perform judgmental underwriting for commercial customers' credit needs, manage receivables and mitigate potential losses through sound credit management strategies.
• Meet operational goals and objectives as part of the team, and handle requests for credit by processing applications with financial documents.

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a field related to the job.
• At least 1 year of work experience; consumer and commercial credit underwriting experience strongly preferred but not required.
• Experience in credit risk management or a related field, and general knowledge of retail, financial services and business trends.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication and decision-making skills.
• Ability to analyze data and turn it into actionable information, and to work independently.
