About the role
KPMG is seeking a Counsel, Investigations to join its Office of General Counsels (OGC) Litigation and Investigations Group. The role combines hands‑on leadership of complex internal investigations with coaching and talent development to ensure consistent, high‑quality investigative practices across the firm.
Key responsibilities
- Support the internal investigations strategy through effective case management, prioritization, and execution.
- Lead end‑to‑end execution of sensitive investigations, including scoping, evidence review, interviews, and reporting.
- Coach and mentor junior team members on investigative techniques, documentation, and professional judgment.
- Design and deliver training on investigative practices, regulatory risks, and escalation protocols.
- Prepare clear investigative reports and summaries for senior leadership and identify trends for broader risk insights.
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and business stakeholders to improve investigation methodologies, tools, and documentation standards.
Required profile
- Minimum four years of relevant experience in internal investigations or related legal work.
- Proven ability to lead complex investigations and provide risk‑informed guidance to business stakeholders.
- Experience coaching and developing junior professionals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting to senior leadership.
