Cost Accountant

About the role

As a Cost Accountant at Applied Intuition, you will strengthen the accounting foundation for our hardware programs, ensuring accurate cost allocation, inventory valuation and financial reporting. You will work closely with Supply Chain, Operations and FP&A, reporting to the Director of Accounting in a fast‑paced, high‑impact environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own product costing and inventory accounting across hardware programs, including valuation, manufacturing variances, reserves and month‑end close.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Operations and FP&A to maintain accurate Bills of Materials, develop labor and overhead assumptions and support gross‑margin analysis.
• Build scalable accounting processes for new product introductions, prototypes, engineering builds and production.
• Define and enforce inventory accounting policies and controls covering capitalization, overhead allocation, LCNRV assessments, freight, tariffs and other inventory‑related costs.
• Improve cost accounting systems, reporting and workflows in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
• Support internal and external audits related to cost and inventory accounting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in cost, inventory or manufacturing accounting.
• Strong knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis and contract manufacturing.
• Experience working with ERP systems and managing inventory accounting policies.
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and drive process improvements.
