Corporate & I-Banking Structured Trade Finance Associate

About the role

Santander is seeking a Structured Trade Finance Associate to join its Corporate & Investment Banking team in the United States. The role focuses on designing and executing financing solutions for international trade and commodity transactions while managing associated risks.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement tailored financing structures such as prepayments, inventory finance, and borrowing‑base facilities.
• Analyze and mitigate transaction risk using insurance guarantees, letters of credit, and other risk‑mitigation instruments.
• Develop complex working‑capital models, forecast cash flows, and assess collateral including inventory and receivables.
• Negotiate terms with lenders and counterparties and prepare required legal documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
• 1–5 years of experience in commodity finance, corporate banking, or trade finance.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States on a full‑time basis without employer sponsorship.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel modeling capabilities.
• Knowledge of financial instruments used in trade finance.
• Understanding of risk assessment techniques.
