Corporate Counsel

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Corporate Counsel to join our global legal team at The Manitowoc Company headquarters in Milwaukee. Reporting to the VP, Deputy General Counsel & Assistant Secretary, you will provide practical legal advice across the enterprise and support the company’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and interpret a wide range of commercial contracts, including supply, service, technology and distribution agreements.
• Provide proactive legal guidance to internal stakeholders in procurement, supply chain, sales, IT, HR, marketing, finance and other functions.
• Advise on real‑estate transactions such as leases, acquisitions, construction and asset‑management documentation.
• Support government contracting activities, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
• Lead or contribute to the development, rollout and enforcement of global legal policies, procedures and best practices.
• Collaborate with business leaders and regional teams to align legal advice with operational and strategic goals.
• Coordinate with external counsel as needed and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives, including training and template updates.
• Assist with investigations, audits and responses to governmental inquiries.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound, practical business judgment.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with the capacity to assess risk in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience leveraging technology, including artificial‑intelligence tools, to improve legal outcomes.
