Corporate Controller – Financial Operations Lead

About the role

Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) is seeking a Corporate Controller to own and evolve the firm’s financial operating system. Reporting to the COO, you will ensure accurate data, disciplined processes, and scalable systems across corporate accounting, treasury, consolidation, planning, reporting, and financial technology.

Key responsibilities

• Lead corporate accounting operations, payroll, accounts payable, expense accounting, and treasury/cash management.
• Oversee firm‑wide financial consolidation, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
• Partner with Fund Finance, Tax, HR, Legal, IT, and leadership to deliver timely, actionable financial information.
• Own the Workday financial roadmap and drive automation of expense and accounting processes.
• Strengthen financial data architecture and modernize reporting to reduce manual work and improve accuracy.

Required profile

• Proven accounting operator with experience leading finance teams in investment management, asset management, private equity, venture capital, or similar multi‑entity environments.
• Demonstrated focus on operational excellence, financial discipline, systems architecture, process modernization, and team leadership.
