Corporate Communications Manager

About the role

Canva is looking for a Corporate Communications Manager to lead US‑focused storytelling, media engagement and issue management as the company continues to scale. This 12‑month contract position offers a hybrid work model, allowing you to split time between the office in Los Angeles or San Francisco and remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Support corporate communications across the US by driving proactive storytelling, media engagement and reactive issues management.
• Develop and nurture relationships with Silicon Valley, Wall Street, business and technology reporters, tastemakers and key opinion leaders.
• Lead communications for major company announcements such as product launches, acquisitions, partnerships and milestones, coordinating high‑impact campaigns.
• Design and execute executive thought‑leadership programs, especially for the CFO, to raise their profile in business, technology and financial conversations.
• Partner with Global Communications to ensure US teams are informed, connected and celebrated through internal communications initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong experience in corporate and financial communications within the US market, with a proven record of securing coverage in leading technology, business and mainstream media outlets.
• Deep understanding of the modern media landscape, including journalists, podcasts, Substacks, creators, analysts and commentators covering technology, AI, business and Silicon Valley.
• Excellent judgment and the ability to navigate sensitive, fast‑moving situations with discretion, composure and sound decision‑making.
• Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, capable of crafting compelling messages for media pitches, press releases and a variety of audiences.
