Controller / Senior Accountant

About the role

This position is a core finance function within a fast‑growing healthcare services organization that operates across multiple states and legal entities. The Controller / Senior Accountant will own end‑to‑end accounting, ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership while working fully remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee full‑cycle, accrual‑based accounting for several entities, maintaining general ledger integrity.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year‑end financial statements, including P&L and balance sheets.
• Manage accounts payable, vendor relationships, and timely bill payments across all entities.
• Track accounts receivable, produce weekly aging reports, and oversee collections.
• Process payroll and contractor payments, ensuring multi‑state tax compliance.
• Coordinate with external accountants and CPAs for tax filings, audits, and regulatory compliance.
• Develop financial reporting tools, dashboards, and KPIs to support decision‑making.
• Strengthen internal controls and build scalable accounting processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably at a Controller or Senior Accountant level.
• Hands‑on experience with AP, AR, payroll, and month‑end close.
• Familiarity with multi‑state tax compliance and healthcare finance is strongly preferred.
• CPA certification or CPA‑track background is a plus.
