Controller – Operational Accounting Lead

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Controller to lead our operational accounting function for a publicly traded, international corporation. The role is highly operational, overseeing day‑to‑day accounting, month‑end close, limited international accounting, and SOX compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes.
• Oversee daily accounting operations: general ledger, AP, AR, fixed assets, accruals, and intercompany accounting.
• Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies across the accounting organization.
• Manage multi‑entity and international consolidations.
• Support integration and standardization of global accounting policies.
• Lead SOX compliance efforts, designing and monitoring internal controls.
• Mentor and develop accounting staff across multiple locations.
• Assist with ERP optimization, system implementations, and automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA certification.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong operational focus.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• Proven leadership of accounting teams and experience with international consolidations.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
