Controller – Financial Reporting & Operations Lead

About the role

The Controller will report directly to the CFO and play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy within a fast‑growing, PE‑backed organization. You will own the end‑to‑end accounting function, ensure accurate GAAP‑compliant reporting, and drive process improvements to support rapid scaling.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and revenue recognition.
• Own monthly, quarterly and annual close processes and deliver timely financial statements.
• Prepare and present internal and external reporting packages for the board, lenders and investors.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and financial policies to meet audit and regulatory standards.
• Partner with FP&A to provide insights on variances, forecasts and key business drivers.
• Support budgeting, cash‑flow forecasting and liquidity management.
• Manage external audits, tax filings and relationships with auditors, tax advisors and lenders.
• Assist the CFO with financial modeling, due diligence and M&A activities.
• Implement and optimize ERP systems and automation to scale with growth.
• Build, mentor and develop a high‑performing accounting team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• Active CPA license.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in a Controller or senior finance leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, consolidations and internal controls.
• Experience in high‑growth, fast‑paced environments, preferably PE‑backed.
• Proven track record managing audits and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with budgeting, cash‑flow management and financial forecasting.
