Controller – Finance Operations

About the role

The Controller will lead the accounting operations for BBB National Programs, ensuring accurate financial reporting and robust internal controls. Reporting to the CFO, this role supports cash and risk management while guiding the finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accuracy of the general ledger, reconciliations, and month‑end close processes.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Lead the annual budgeting process, monitor performance, and provide variance analysis.
• Manage cash flow, reserves, investments, and banking relationships.
• Support external and internal audits and oversee regulatory filings such as Form 990.
• Develop and enforce internal controls to mitigate financial and operational risk.
• Provide financial modeling for new programs and initiatives.
• Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Deliver financial insights to senior leadership and drive continuous improvement.
• Manage and develop finance staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
