Controller – Finance Lead for Autonomous Ground Handling Startup

About the role
AeroVect is building the next generation of autonomous ground handling solutions for airlines worldwide. As the first in‑house finance hire, you will own the entire accounting function, shaping processes and reporting from the ground up.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the full monthly and annual close, delivering GAAP‑compliant financial statements for board and investors.
- Manage intercompany transactions, multi‑entity consolidation, and revenue recognition (ASC 606) for a mixed hardware‑software business.
- Oversee hardware COGS accounting, including inventory, BOM costing, and depreciation schedules.
- Evaluate, select, and implement a modern ERP and related finance tools (billing, AP automation, expense management).
- Build automated workflows to streamline close processes, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors for US, UK, and Canadian compliance and transfer‑pricing.
- Handle debt‑facility reporting, covenant compliance, and interest calculations.
- Establish internal controls appropriate for a high‑growth startup and prepare for external audits.
Required profile
- 6–10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 2+ years at a venture‑backed startup.
- Experience as the sole or primary finance person in a 30–150 employee company.
- Strong technical accounting skills: ASC 606 revenue recognition, inventory/hardware accounting, multi‑entity consolidation, intercompany eliminations.
- International accounting exposure (US plus at least one non‑US jurisdiction).
- Ability to produce investor‑grade financial statements and board packages independently.
- CPA certification.
