Controller – Finance & Accounting Leadership

About the role

The American Coatings Association (ACA) is seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting activities for the organization and its subsidiaries. Reporting to the Senior Vice President and CFO, you will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, audit coordination, and compliance in a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee month‑end close, general ledger review, reconciliations, and cash‑flow projections.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statement packages for ACA and its subsidiaries.
• Lead the annual budgeting process using Planful and develop financial forecasts.
• Coordinate the annual external audit and manage tax‑return information requests.
• Maintain GAAP compliance, internal controls, and record‑retention policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and a CPA license.
• 7‑10 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Experience with nonprofit (501(c)(6) or 501(c)(3)) accounting preferred.

• NetSuite ERP system.
• Planful Forecast & Budgeting Tool.
• Bill.com accounts payable platform.
• Ramp corporate expense reporting tool.
• Salesforce integration knowledge.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables).

• Salary range $160,000‑$175,000 annually, based on experience.
