Control Systems & Automation Engineer

About the role

NSC Global is seeking a Control Systems & Automation Engineer to support site-level industrial automation and control infrastructure. The role requires 100% on-site presence to work directly with manufacturing control cabinets, PLCs, DCS panels, SCADA systems and process equipment on the production floor. It covers hardware commissioning, safety interlock testing, alarm rationalization and in-situ calibration of field instruments in regulated, access-controlled environments, including GMP manufacturing areas.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, commission and maintain control cabinets, DCS panels, PLCs and field devices
• Program, configure and troubleshoot DCS, SCADA and PLC systems on major industrial vendor platforms
• Calibrate and maintain process instrumentation for flow, temperature, pressure and level
• Test safety interlocks, implement alarm management standards and take part in functional safety assessments
• Maintain OT network communications across the plant
• Follow site access protocols, GMP change control procedures and take part in HAZOP/PSM evaluations

Required profile

• Ability to physically inspect, test and troubleshoot equipment on the factory floor; remote work is not applicable
• Ability to meet strict site security clearances and badging requirements for regulated manufacturing zones such as GMP areas

Required skills

• DCS, SCADA and PLC platforms such as Siemens PCS7, Rockwell ControlLogix, ABB System 800xA or Honeywell Experion
• IEC 61131-3 programming (ladder, function block, sequential function chart, structured text)
• Alarm management (EEMUA 191 / ISA-18.2) and functional safety (IEC 61511, SIL)
• Fieldbus and Ethernet protocols such as PROFIBUS, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, OPC-UA and Modbus
• HAZOP participation, PSM fundamentals and GMP change control
