Contracts Manager, EL Solutions

About the role

ABB is hiring a Contracts Manager for its EL Solutions business unit, which supports Electrification Distribution Solutions in North America. The role reports to the Senior Contract Manager and leads contract management services within the assigned area, ensuring activities follow corporate policies, the Contract Management Policy and Framework, and standard contract and claim management procedures. The work model is hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Proposal team and front-end negotiations: attend weekly proposal team meetings, and support negotiations with customers and vendors on contractual language, pricing, payment terms and scope.
• Change orders and notices: verify change order documentation, and manage the notices process by monitoring, logging and routing claims, delays, disputes and insurance events.
• Project execution and risk identification: attend weekly project manager meetings and monthly project reviews, and assist in preparing claim notifications, tracking variations and delays, and organizing claim documentation.
• Compliance and reporting: establish documentation discipline across project teams, guide Project Managers in documenting schedule impacts and customer-caused delays, and monitor contract compliance and subcontract requirements.
• Supplier and subcontract management: support drafting of purchase orders and subcontracts with flow-down terms, and track subcontractor performance.

Required profile

• BS in Engineering, Business or a related field.
• 3-7 years of experience in contracts, project management and commercial roles.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites (about 20%).
• Authorization to work in the US; working knowledge of ABB or similar industrial/EPC environments is a plus.

Required skills

• Familiarity with contract management tools and document control systems.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written communication, able to draft clear contractual correspondence and notices.
