Contracts Lead – Defense Turreted Weapon Systems

About the role

Moog Military Aircraft LLC is seeking a Contracts Lead to drive contracting activities for its Turreted Weapon Systems Business Unit within the Defense Division. This hybrid position, based in Santa Barbara, CA, will work closely with the Business Unit Manager and senior leadership to align contract strategies with operational and financial goals.

Key responsibilities

• Mentor and develop Contract Specialists and Program Administrators, fostering a collaborative and learning‑focused environment.
• Lead the creation and execution of contract strategies across multiple turreted weapon systems programs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, legal, finance, program management, and external customers.
• Ensure compliance with FAR/DFAR regulations, company policies, and government procurement requirements.
• Guide high‑stakes contract negotiations, renewals, amendments, and dispute resolution.
• Support proposal teams with contract terms, pricing strategies, risk identification, and compliance considerations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in defense contracting and government procurement.
• Demonstrated leadership and team‑development capabilities.
• Strong analytical and risk‑management skills.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with legal, finance, and program teams.
