Contents Cleaning Technician

About the role

The Contents Cleaning Technician works alongside emergency service technicians, carpenters, painters, laborers, and subcontractors to provide cleaning services after water, mold, fire, smoke, and biohazard incidents. The role involves both on‑site and off‑site cleaning, inventory management, and customer liaison throughout reconstruction.

Key responsibilities

• Inventory and document restored and non‑restorable items, monitoring affiliates and company employees on projects.
• Set up workstations, assemble boxes, identify damaged items, sort, pack, clean, and process affected contents.
• Apply appropriate cleaning methods and solutions (degreaser, multipurpose, disinfectant, furniture polish, HEPA vacuuming, Hydroxyl/Ozone, etc.).
• Follow protocols for ultrasonic cleaning, laundry, wood furniture, electronics, and leather.
• Inspect off‑site storage units to ensure contents are safe, dry, and stored in temperature‑controlled environments.
• Photograph pre‑existing conditions and loss phases, uploading images from the jobsite.
• Maintain personal and company tools, vehicle, and adhere to material safety data standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
• Good communication, detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, and highly organized.
• Ability to perform physical work consistently, including lifting up to 55 lb and crawling, bending, stooping.
• Availability for on‑call duties, extended work hours, and satisfactory background check.
