Consultant on Gender Mainstreaming

About the role

The Office of the Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict (OSRSG CAAC) is seeking a short‑term consultant to conduct an inter‑sectional analysis of its guiding documents and evaluate how gender is integrated into strategic planning. This remote assignment will last two days and aims to strengthen gender‑sensitive approaches across the Office’s work.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse OSRSG CAAC guiding documents to assess gender integration and inter‑sectional perspectives.
• Evaluate current strategic documents for gender representation and propose measurable gender indicators.
• Prepare a concise report with findings, recommendations, and actionable steps for improving gender mainstreaming.
• Support the development of gender‑sensitive monitoring frameworks aligned with the UN System‑Wide Action Plan on Gender Equality.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in gender studies, international development, public policy or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in gender mainstreaming within UN, humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong analytical, research and writing skills.
• Familiarity with UN reporting mechanisms and gender equality frameworks.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high‑quality outputs within a tight timeframe.
