Construction Surveillance Technician

About the role

Amentum is hiring Construction Surveillance Technicians in Virginia for a US intelligence community customer. You will act as a physical security specialist, protecting critical assets and supporting workplace and mission security. The position is hourly and overtime-eligible under the Service Contract Act (SCA), with a stated pay range of $25-$30 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Observe, inspect and report construction site work.
• Evaluate and develop physical, personnel and technical security.
• Produce written reports using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Conduct physical equipment searches and personnel searches on site.
• Operate technical security devices, systems and monitoring devices alone or in a team.
• Report suspicious behaviour, security infractions and correlations between site blueprints and ICD-705 standards.

Required profile

• Must be a US citizen at the time of application and hold an active Top Secret clearance; willing to take a polygraph and upgrade clearance if requested.
• At least 6 months of security experience and/or 2 years of construction or trades experience.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays and overtime, and to travel to different site locations as directed.
• Physical ability to stand 8-12 hours, walk on uneven surfaces, climb 5 flights of stairs in a shift, lift 25 pounds and make safe decisions on site.

Preferred experience

• Military experience (MSG, Infantry, Technical Surveillance, Construction, Security Protection Details).
• Blueprint reading and construction projects, and knowledge of ICD-705 for SCIF construction.
• Background in executive protection, physical, personnel and site security.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar products, and a current passport.
