Construction Superintendent – SR400 Express Lanes Project

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on the SR400 Express Lanes Project, a $4.6 billion heavy‑civil infrastructure program in metro Atlanta. The role oversees daily construction activities, ensuring compliance with GDOT contracts, federal labor standards and safety regulations while delivering the project on schedule and budget.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily work of production crews and subcontractors, acting as the primary liaison between engineering, estimating, field operations and subcontractors.
• Plan and sequence work methods, equipment, materials and labor to meet production and safety targets.
• Conduct daily and weekly planning meetings, document progress and field notes using the project‑approved reporting system.
• Review drawings, specifications and phasing plans, communicate hazards and enforce site‑specific safety plans.
• Coordinate equipment, vendor and subcontractor resources to achieve production and budget goals.
• Identify schedule risks, propose technical alternatives and mitigate potential delays.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising large‑scale civil construction projects, preferably with transportation or express‑lane work.
• Strong knowledge of Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) contract requirements and federal labor standards such as Davis‑Bacon.
• Demonstrated ability to manage safety compliance and enforce site‑specific safety plans.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills to align multiple internal and external teams.
