Construction Manager

About the role

Amentum is recruiting a Construction Manager for the IDIQ & Construction Services Directorate, supporting the Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering Contract (CMOE) at NASA Langley Research Center. The Construction Manager reports directly to the Construction Field Services Supervisor. The position is posted at multiple levels, and candidates are considered at any level for which it is advertised.

Key responsibilities

• Daily project scheduling and technical review of submittals
• Coordination of subcontractor performance and compliance
• Coordination of facility access, facility activities and outages
• Overall responsibility for daily project safety and success
• All work must follow a high standard of quality and professionalism, and all safety policies and procedures must be followed

Required profile

• Completion of a certified apprenticeship program
• Minimum of 10 years of related construction experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of curricula gained through long and varied field experience
• Leadership ability and effective oral and written communication, including use of visual aids
• U.S. citizenship, valid state driver's license, Real ID-compliant identification, and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
• Regular onsite attendance is mandatory; occasional overtime may be required

Required skills

• Proficiency in mechanical/process systems (rigging, millwright, HVAC, controls, process piping)
• Knowledge of asphalt, concrete, masonry, structural steel, roofing and interior finishes is a plus
• Some budget management of labor hours
• Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook and MS Project
