Construction Attorney – Transactional & Counseling

About the role

Offit Kurman is expanding its New York office and seeks an experienced Construction Attorney. The role focuses on advising architects, engineers, and other design professionals on contracts, risk management, and day‑to‑day legal matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise design professionals on legal and business issues throughout project lifecycles.
• Draft, review, and negotiate professional services agreements and construction contracts, including AIA contracts.
• Provide risk‑management counsel, support dispute avoidance and resolution, and assist with contract administration.
• Support litigation and dispute matters when required.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in construction law.
• Admission to practice in New York.
• Ability to serve as outside general counsel to sophisticated design and construction clients.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and client‑counseling abilities.

Required skills

• Experience with AIA contracts.
• Expertise in construction law and contract negotiation.

What we offer

• Salary range $175,000–$325,000, based on experience and book of business.
