About the role
The Conflicts Counsel joins Husch Blackwell’s Conflicts Department to support the firm’s intake and maintenance of client matters, lateral hires, and external counsel engagements. This role ensures compliance with professional conduct rules and helps protect the firm from conflicts of interest.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, analyze, and resolve conflicts of interest across new business, lateral clearances, and RFP responses.
- Draft and manage conflict waivers, ethical walls, and conflict‑related language for engagement letters.
- Provide clear, timely communication to partners, staff, and leadership on conflict queries and resolutions.
- Maintain accurate records of conflict decisions and update outdated or erroneous conflict data.
- Serve as a resource for conflicts analysts and advise on the use of conflict‑management technologies.
Required profile
- Strong understanding of legal ethics and Rules of Professional Conduct related to conflicts.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment while adhering to firm policies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with attorneys and leadership.
- Detail‑oriented with a focus on maintaining data integrity.

- Proficiency with Intapp Open.
- Proficiency with Intapp Terms.
