About the role

The Pre‑Stressed Concrete Inspector will oversee quality assurance for fabrication facilities on behalf of Bureau Veritas’s clients, typically state Departments of Transportation or construction contractors. The role involves ensuring compliance with project specifications, schedules, and budgets while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with Project Managers and fabrication shops to define work order requirements, scope, schedule, and budget.
• Resolve schedule issues with contractors and third parties and ensure services meet contract requirements.
• Generate and process timesheets, billing, and inspection reports promptly using Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat.
• Transmit reports electronically to Project Managers and maintain documentation.
• Maintain positive relationships among Bureau Veritas, the fabrication facility, and the client.

Required profile

• Minimum three years in concrete construction, including at least one year in precast or prestressed concrete.
• ACI Level I Field Technician Certification.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
• Experience using Adobe Acrobat for document preparation.
• Familiarity with Lotus Notes (preferred).
• Ability to operate digital cameras and transfer photographs to reports.
• Strong computer literacy and PC operation skills.
