Computer Information Systems (CIS) Instructor

About the role

Under general supervision, the CIS Instructor provides classroom instruction, prepares syllabi and lesson plans, and develops program goals and objectives for students at Central Georgia Technical College.

Key responsibilities

• Teach all phases of the computer information systems curriculum in traditional, evening, or online formats.
• Maintain program requirements, attend professional development, and keep accurate records and grade books.
• Evaluate student progress, complete reports, and manage inventory of assigned properties.
• Travel within the college’s service area and to multiple campus sites as needed.

Required profile

• Earned master’s degree in computer information systems, IT, computer science, or a related field with appropriate teaching concentration.
• Or bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with demonstrated teaching competence, certifications, and/or relevant work experience.
• Submission of resume, application, transcripts, and required documentation through the CGTC portal.

Required skills

• Effective oral and written communication.
• Knowledge of current in‑field procedures and appropriate teaching techniques.
