About the role
The Joint Office for Compliance at UI Health Care is seeking a Compliance Risk Auditor to conduct professional and hospital risk audits. You will ensure adherence to coding, billing, and documentation policies while complying with federal regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Perform risk audits in line with UI Health Care policies, federal rules, and coding/billing guidelines.
- Research coding, billing, and regulatory topics independently to support audit scope.
- Track and organize audit findings, communications, and resources in shared folders.
- Report and validate audit findings promptly, discussing results with supervisors and leadership.
- Compose detailed summaries for providers, coders, and administrators.
- Conduct audit meetings (in‑person or virtual) to resolve issues and communicate results.
- Prepare complex reports for leadership that highlight trends, impact, and corrective actions.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Certification such as RHIT, RHIA, CPC, or equivalent.
- 1‑3 years of coding experience (inpatient, outpatient, professional, or hospital).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work in a respectful environment.
Required skills
- Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS guidelines and federal coding/billing regulations.
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Proficiency in coding software.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
