Compliance Officer, Research Security

About the role

The Texas A&M University System’s Research Security Office is seeking a Compliance Officer to monitor and facilitate compliance with federal, state and system research security regulations. This full‑time position supports the university’s mission of safe and responsible research.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, establish and maintain a broad‑based compliance program aligned with ethical standards and applicable laws.
• Monitor compliance with federal, state and TAMU System research security regulations, policies and directives.
• Identify compliance vulnerabilities and create corrective action plans.
• Recommend and update program guidelines, procedures, policies and regulations.
• Assist with research security training and respond to subject‑matter expert review requests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum four years of related compliance or research security experience.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of federal and state research security regulations.
• Experience with compliance monitoring and reporting.
