Compliance and Regulatory Analyst - Surplus Lines

About the role

McGriff Specialty, a division of Marsh Agency, is hiring a Compliance and Regulatory Analyst in Birmingham. You will provide compliance and regulatory services to McGriff teammates, supporting the surplus lines business.

Key responsibilities

• Provide compliance and regulatory services to McGriff teammates
• Areas of responsibility may include contracting, surplus lines taxes, insurance licenses, carrier appointments and other compliance and market conduct matters

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, training and work-related experience
• Ability to travel occasionally overnight
• Additional qualifications such as surplus lines tax experience are a plus but not required

Required skills

• Strong client relations skills, including excellent communication, service orientation and tactfulness
• Leadersship skills: giving direction, constructive feedback, development and training, and motivating others
• Ability to persuade and negotiate with clients to obtain information, commitment or payments
• Proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of the company agency management system and accounts receivable system, and all company computer applications

• Base salary of $54,700 to $101,900, depending on experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education and other factors; possible performance-based incentives
