Compliance Analyst – Investigations (Non‑Nurse)

About the role

This full‑time contractual position supports the Maryland Board of Nursing’s mission to protect the public by investigating potential breaches of nursing practice standards. The analyst will develop complaints, conduct thorough investigations of licensed health‑care practitioners, and present clear recommendations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage complaints related to violations of the Nurse Practice Act.
• Conduct investigations of health‑care practitioners, gathering and assessing evidence.
• Prepare and present concise reports and recommendations to the Board.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information throughout the investigative process.
• Communicate findings effectively with patients, professionals, and other agencies.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of investigative experience in health‑care, insurance, medical malpractice, or related fields (or equivalent education/experience as noted).
• Knowledge of general health‑care procedures, policies, and standards.
• Exceptional research, organizational, and independent‑judgment abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• U.S. Armed Forces officer experience in legal or investigative roles may be substituted for required experience.
