Completions Applications Engineer

About the role

Salamander is seeking a Completions Applications Engineer to design, engineer, and apply advanced downhole heater systems for oil and gas well completions. The role involves creating integrated heater solutions that meet customer requirements and operational constraints, with required on‑site presence.

Key responsibilities

• Review customer requirements and recommend standard downhole heater configurations using approved products and designs.
• Configure heater system solutions for quotations and proposals, preparing preliminary layouts and wellbore schematics.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Engineering to translate requirements into commercially viable proposals.
• Provide technical support during job planning, tender preparation, and post‑job review.
• Identify technical risks and escalates non‑standard applications to the VP of Engineering.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, petroleum, materials engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in downhole completions or production solutions.
• Strong understanding of construction principles, completion systems, and production operations.

Required skills

• Knowledge of downhole heater systems and intelligent/smart completions.
• Experience creating well completion hook‑up drawings and technical proposals.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication abilities.
